Day One:
DSW [Union Square]: can you believe the only boots that they had were galoshes??? Not one single respectable pair ... and by respectable I mean brown or black and not made of florescent rubber.
Fillene's Basement [Union Square]: once again no respectable pair of boots. In fact, I don't think I saw anything that resembled a boot.
Macy's [Herald Square]: I found boots between 3 different floors ... I'm convinced that 99% of boots these days are made for heffers after seeing Macy's selection of Eskimo boots and stretch boot zip-ups. The only pair of boots I found that possibly could fit my leg were size 5 1/2 and I wear 7 1/2 at least. Could people tell me why a boot with what looked like a 20" opening needed stretchy material and a zipper? Are women's legs that fat these days?
Day Two: the search continues ...
Piperlime.com: found several pairs of interest. Ordered two pairs [thank you free shipping and return!], and they should be arriving in 4-7 business days. One is listed as having a 6 1/4 stretchy opening. I think it's a typo and they meant a 12 1/2 circumference. 12" sounds reasonable.
Day Eight:
I went all the way to the UPS pick-up center on W 43rd and 11th Ave to retrieve my boots. No one was home at the apt, and I knew all along my life would have been better if I had just trusted the boots to arrive safely to my workplace. Anywayz, seeing the boots made my night so worth it even if it did take until 9pm for them to find my box. Boot #1 nearly killed me to take off. Boot #2 are damn sexy. I'm waiting until this weekend to get the final thumbs-up from the boyfriend.

No fear ... I'll just sprint to the store and buy it without thinking about the consequences on my bank balance.
